About

A two-year account on a typically unsexy topic: credit scores.

Within that project, however, lay a fun creative challenge: develop a brand mascot for a financial services company. A task that requires a deep understanding of the category, audience evaluation, and a creative appetite to develop something memorable.

Across two years, the scope extended beyond the mascot. TV, DRTV, OOH, and radio campaigns all required creative solutions and careful crafting for a category with regulatory constraints.

The Challenge:

Developing a brand mascot within a tight timeline meant working closely within strict regulatory guidelines for creative credit communications. The goal was to bridge the gap between bold creative ideas and client expectations, finding common ground where ambition met compliance.

As team responsibilities shifted, stepping into full independent ownership of the account meant taking the lead on balancing creative goals with client needs, ensuring a smooth path from concept to delivery.

The Solution:

The key was finding a fun, engaging way to deliver an important financial message to our target audience in a traditionally unexciting category. By balancing creative ambition with clear communication, we brought the brand to life through a series of TV and DRTV adverts starring a telepathic, talking chameleon voiced by British actor Samson Kayo.

The result was a charming, lighthearted brand mascot and multi-channel campaign that proved even financial services can be genuinely entertaining while successfully driving key brand messages home.
